The definition of Adventurous Couple: Muriel & Lukas

Peruvian + Australian. Listen...
I still remember my first meeting with Muriel.
In short: coffee, pastries, and gossip.
She told me how she met Lukas, how she ended up in Australia, and every last detail of the wedding they were planning. I was so hooked on the story that we probably spent an hour and a half in that little café in Sydney before we even started talking about photography.
I had a feeling this one was going to be special. I was right.
"Out of all the weird things I've found on the internet, you are, by far, my favorite one." That is how Lukas decided to begin his wedding vows.
Honestly? It's one of my favorite openings I've ever heard.
They got married at Coogee Beach, with the Pacific Ocean stretching out behind them, surrounded by friends and family who had traveled from both sides of the world to celebrate with them.
There is something incredibly special about a couple who can convince people to fly from Peru to Australia just to witness their wedding. And that is exactly who these two are.
This wedding was particularly relaxing for me because, let me tell you... "Everybody squeeze in for the photo!" works perfectly well. But there is something deeply comforting about being able to yell, "¡Ya, apéguense!" to a crowd of Peruvians. Home, sweet home.
They also made homemade limoncello as wedding favors.
I just love them.
These two were what we academics would call the adventurous sort.
They were well traveled. And when I say well traveled, I mean 68 countries and counting.
So, naturally, after getting married by the beach, it only made sense for their Trash the Dress session to take place somewhere completely different.
You know. For science.
We woke up at truly unholy hours of the morning and drove into the Blue Mountains.
On the way, they introduced me to their favorite German bakery, which served less as breakfast and more as fuel for what came next.
Because the next step in our journey was hiking to a waterfall. Yes. In their wedding clothes.
The entire day felt less like work and more like an adventure with friends. We shared stories, explored one of Australia's most beautiful landscapes, and created photographs that I'm still incredibly proud to have made.
Days like these are exactly why I love being a wedding photographer. They're never just about the wedding. They're about the people you meet, the places they call home, and the adventures you'll forever associate with their story. And these two gave me all three.
